 | | Dance Pad won't work. | | | Question | | | My Dance Praise dance pad doesn't work, what can I do? | | Answer | First be sure that you plug the pad in before starting the game. If you have two pads plug them in one at a time waiting for the first one to be detected before plugging in the second. The test to see if your dance pads have been detected depends on you operating system.
Windows PC 1 - Shake out the pad and smooth it out. Sometimes it just gets a kink in it. 2 - Start with the pad unplugged from the computer. 3 - Select the Windows "Start" button, select Settings, select Control Panel, select "Game Controllers" 4 - Plug in the dance pad, one at a time if you have two. Make sure the first is recognized before plugging in the second. 5 - "4 axis 16 button joystick" should appear on the screen.(This sometimes takes 15-30 seconds)
Mac OS X 1 - Shake out the pad and smooth it out. Sometimes it just gets a kink in it. 2 - Plug in the pads 3 - Select the Apple icon in the upper left corner. Select "About this Mac" 4 - Select "More info..." 5 - In the System Profiler, select USB (Under hardware on left panel) 6 - "PSX-USB Adapter" should be displayed. If it does, your Macintosh recognizes the pad. 7 - You can check if the arrows are being read by using the Dance Praise Configuration utility, just exit before you finish as you do not need to configure our Dance Praise branded pads.
If the operating system reports an error or does not report the Dance Praise dance pads then contact our tech support for further assistance. This test only applies to Dance Praise branded dance pads. If you are using a PS2 dance pad with a PS2 to USB adaptor then you need to contact the store where you purchased them for assistance.
